Rebelde

A group effort from the young actors and actresses from the hit telenovela of the same name, Rebelde is a surprisingly crafty, enjoyable pop album. These singers shed so much fresh-faced enthusiasm that it's infectious, and they have a kind of devil-may-care attitude that recalls, yes, early T.A.T.U. Nothing original, but lots to like, nonetheless.

A pop group spawned by the highly successful telenovela "Rebelde," RBD includes the six hot young stars from the series. For a prefab group, they sound pretty amazing -- the pop compositions are sharp and on-point, while their fresh-faced enthusiasm makes the rest work. Their 2004 release, Rebelde, got some attention early in 2005 when "Rebelde" appeared in the charts, but it was the song "Solo Quedate En Silencio" that pushed them over the edge.
